Education

Giving good news to the poor includes providing them with a quality education.

It is especially unique in the developing world for young women to have an opportunity to move through higher levels of education, and your support of our Education initiatives will provide this very thing. Here are some of the places you can make an incredible investment in creating a better future for a deserving child.

Malawi: Sadly, if young girls in Malawi are not going to school, they are likely to end up in low-level jobs that also leave them vulnerable to trafficking and abuse. The opportunity to go to school is a highly coveted experience, and the scholarships we provide will go to very deserving young ladies in the communities our partners work in. In addition to school fees being paid, they will be supported in other ways that will guarantee their physical, spiritual, and emotional health.

Zimbabwe: Our friends and partners in Zimbabwe have felt called to provide a faith-based and holistic education opportunity for children in their community. It is the best education available at a very important time in the development of the country. Economic challenges are severe there, and those with the strongest education will have the greatest opportunity to become leaders in their community. Over 100 students currently attend and over half cannot afford it. Investing in Zimbabwe will help make things better for future generations.

South Asia: Our partners in South Asia are serving in a place where many are persecuted simply for being Christian. 98% of the country is non-Christian and economic stability in many communities is lacking. The schools we support in South Asia are built in areas of slave labor camps. In cooperation with slave-owners, we are able to negotiate the opportunity for the children of slaves to go to school. Those who complete their education have the opportunity to receive an even higher level of education to help them break from poverty's grip. An additional advantage of standing with our partners here is that we are also creating jobs for teachers, and in many cases, underground churches are being planted as the schools prosper.

The Philippines: Tiwala Kids & Communities run various educational programs for children and parents such as student enrichment classes, tutorials, scholarship grants, digital learning, expressive arts, and even STEP classes for students that need help filling in gaps from their public school education. Tiwala's heart and commitment to the vulnerable children they work with every day is beyond incredible! We would love to continue to provide Tiwala with the resources they need to continue to serve and provide education for underprivileged children, their families, and their community.

India: We have a few places in India that we are helping support int he area of education. FIAM works in a very poor area within the state of Andhra Pradesh. Without education, the community in the surrounding area would not be able to even send their children to school due to lack of funds and transportation. St. Joseph’s School provides education for over 300 kids and they are looking to grow by adding 150 more this year. Their biggest need is to provide a school bus for the community. The southern island of Rameswaram is very behind the times and most children would have to travel far distances and pay expensive fees to get a good education. At Body of Christ International, the King Of Kings And Prince Of Peace Schools are working hard to provide 1900+ kids an incredible, high-quality, biblical education. Many of the kids that attend this school are also Hindu and Muslim children which is an incredible evangelism opportunity for these schools as well.

Nicaragua: The Hope Project International is providing school to over 800 children in 3 communities in the mountainous region of Matagalpa. Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, and most families could not provide their kids with an education if it wasn’t for The Hope Academy. They not only provide a high-quality education, with many higher-level paths for college, including scholarship opportunities, and vocational training, but they also provide the students with after-school tutoring, bible classes, fine arts classes, such as dance and drama, as well as, education outside of the school day for older teens, helping them learn more about the dangers in Nicaragua due to human trafficking.

It is an honor to stand with these vulnerable children and provide them with the chance to learn and to lead.

“Education gives children the hand-up they need to be able to break free from generational poverty.”

“If you educate a girl child in our community, you have educated the whole village."

- Moses Njobvu, Abundant Life Ministries, Malawi

"Our children have gone from the lowest-performing students to the highest-performing students because of the love and care provided.”

- Farrell Burton, The Hope Project, Nicaragua

"I am Gloria Julius. I am 14 years old and from Chikwera village. I have written my primary school examinations and now I am going into Form 1. The challenges I can face are a lack of soap, lotion, and food. When I grow up I want to be a doctor/nurse."
