Nicaragua Trip

Dear Links Family,

A couple of weeks ago, I had the privilege of leading a team from our church to Nicaragua, to work our friends and partners at The Hope Project and it was incredible in so many ways. Here are some of the things I want to share getting home after our trip...

  1. It never gets old seeing people come alive when they visit the mission field for the first time. We had a diverse group with us from teenagers to mid 60's, and the experience was powerful for everyone. If you've never gone on a trip, get your passport and get ready. It's always a good time to follow the Lord into the nations. We've got so many great places we can recommend, or let us know if you want to go with us next time!

  2. God does as much in the hearts of the team members as he does in the people we serve. While it is a matter of obedience to live on mission, "visiting the poor in their affliction" is something that catalyzes faith in a deep way. The presence of the Lord is strong with the vulnerable, and getting to walk among that on a trip changes you forever

  3. Relationships are everything. I first went to Nicaragua over 10 years ago, and the relationships that we've built over the years have continued to produce Kingdom fruit year after year.

  4. Our Links projects matter. We were able to assemble and build 9 water filter kits for the families that we ministered to. We have provided a steady supply of filters to Nicaragua over the years, and seeing the gratitude on the faces of the people receiving them is something that is hard to describe. Clean water literally improves lives and, in some cases, saves them. In addition to the filters, we were able to provide Links LeaderLink training to two different groups of people, including both ministry and community leaders. Investing in the potential and capacity of the leaders God has provided builds opportunities that will help people come out of poverty.

  5. Church is Church, no matter where you go. Worshipping with brothers and sisters in a different culture shows how amazing God is. You can feel at home with anybody who is a part of the family of God. Worshipping with our friends at La Fuente over the years is a joy that's hard to describe.

It is so humbling to get to be on the front lines of taking Good News to the nations.

This Nicaragua trip was powerful, and it was made even better by everyone who helps us provide clean water, leadership training, business development, and the Gospel of Jesus around the world.

Thank you for helping us do what we do. What a privilege it is to pray, give, and go!

If you want to help us keep the amazing work in Nicaragua going, here a few ways to give:
