At Links, we believe in hand ups, not hand outs. We want all of the projects and partners we support through Links to be sustainable. One of the ways we do this is by providing business training and coaching. Helping someone set up their own business empowers them to help themselves.
THE HOPE PROJECT
The Hope Projects seeks to impact the lives of vulnerable children and their families through educational, nutritional, housing, community development and vocational programs and more to help people break the cycle of poverty and bring them hope.
Through The Hope Project, we have partnered with them to provide business training and equipment to help empower a group of women in Nicaragua to start their own sewing business in order to help support their family.
SHALOM - EL SALVADOR
Several times a year we are able to visit the Shalom Children’s Home in San Salvador, El Salvador where they help orphaned and abandoned children, offer them a christian education and serve the community by providing healthcare.
Sanitation - Hygiene - Immunizations - Nutrition - Empowerment
SHINE Community healthcare training and education provides poverty stricken areas with help to improve the overall safety and quality of life for families and communities in impoverished countries.
CASAS DE ESPERANZA
Inadequate housing is common for most families in Nicaragua. Many are living in shacks made of black plastic or in houses that need repair. We are repairing and building homes for families that we have established relationships through our various ministries.
Links provides water filter kits to communities around the world who don't have access to clean water. One Water filter kit gives clean water to 200 people for approx. 2 years and only costs $75.
The cost of traveling can be expensive. We travel to several places a few times a year. For every trip we have flight, food, lodging and general travel needs. This helps us continue our mission work around the world.
Over the years we have been privileged to be able to extend our leadership training to local leaders, such as tribal Chiefs in Africa and the Amazon, to local government officials and leadership in the cities. Our aim is to raise up servant leaders, who will confront the status quo.
In partnership with the local government, this project was created to help educate young women like these in Nicaragua who are being lured away from their families by older men in order to escape extreme poverty and help give these women their hope back.
ABUNDANT LIFE - MALAWI
Abundant Life Center is a Christian community driven ministry whose aim is to enrich the lives of orphans and vulnerable children, girls, women and widows with dignity and empowerment.
