Vibrant Corners

Leading ChildVoice's Eastern Europe project since the start of 2024 has been quite the journey. I started remotely from Scotland until the Lord opened a door to move to the Republic of Moldova in late 2024, something I never imagined I would end up enjoying! Life here—navigating the complexities of post-Soviet society and serving in an active war zone—is deeply challenging, yet incredibly rewarding. And somehow, I've managed to fall in love with this place. Must be the vibrancy in our corner of the world.

My official role is to explore how ChildVoice can bring its values and theory of change model to this region. That means I spend much of my time assessing needs, working with local partners, building and delivering trainings, developing and sourcing helpful curricula, and supporting, mentoring, and encouraging local staff and leaders.

Alongside all of this, I’m also learning and attempting to work in Romanian, Russian, and Ukrainian, serving in local programmes and at my church, investing in women’s discipleship and spiritual growth, and starting younger girls’ sport and mentorship initiatives. Even more, I've also got a few projects and ministry ideas in the works that can help grow awareness and potentially provide a couple of jobs here in the region.

But just as Jesus modelled, I’m constantly reminded to stay present and focused, ministering to each person one by one. This is quite hard given the extent of both needs and opportunities, but it leaves me excited to watch the Lord unfold my ability to serve and empower the individuals He has brought me to.
