Vibrant Corners

Leading ChildVoice's Eastern Europe project since the start of 2024 has been quite the journey. I started remotely from Scotland until the Lord opened a door to move to the Republic of Moldova in late 2024, something I never imagined I would end up enjoying! Life here—navigating the complexities of a post-Soviet impoverished society and serving in an active war zone—is deeply challenging, yet incredibly rewarding. Yet somehow I've managed to fall in love with this place :)

My official role with ChildVoice has been to explore how we can bring their values and theory of change model to this region. That means I spend much of my time assessing needs, working with local partners, building and delivering trainings, developing and sourcing helpful curricula, and supporting, mentoring, and encouraging local staff and leaders. But given the extent of the needs here, we could never foresee just how overwhelming and unprepared I was to take on these tasks!

As we pause and reassess ChildVoice’s role in this region, I am taking this time to build on the ideas I believe God has been highlighting as ways I can continue serving and loving on Moldova and Ukraine. I’ve seen how being present, listening and reflecting back ideas have all been the most appreciated and seemingly desired things I can offer folks here. So I want to build on that.

That’s why I feel very keenly that I want to stay and grow some projects I’ve had on my heart for quite some time. Between these and the relationships and community I’ve built, I really see God opening new doors to bring value and impact to this region. Discipleship, mentorship and support will continue to underpin everything I do, but just as Jesus modelled, I’d like to stay present and focused on the specific ministry opportunities I feel uniquely called to.

Hence, Vibrant Corners–the seedlings of a ministry we’ve been building for many years! It’s quite multifaceted, but ultimately rests on giving a platform to others doing incredible work in every corner of the world.

I’ve had so many opportunities to build networks and communities around the world, and I feel like the greatest “beneficiary” of it all–I’ve gotten to hear and see God working beautiful, intricate stories all over the globe. And I’ve fallen in love, time and time again. So I want you, too, to fall in love with what I get to see up close!

If you'd like to give to my projects outside of ChildVoice, this is the place! Your funds will go toward transportation costs, equipping locals, and growing new opportunities to serve both Moldova and Ukraine.

Thank you for considering giving, and for caring. In this oft-forgotten, overlooked wee corner of the world, it means the world.

So, there are many ways you can support and keep up with the work we (a team of local Moldovans and some dear ones abroad) are developing:

  1. PRAYER

    1. This is the most important way you can support both my work and ministry.

  2. Socials: Still in the works, but follow:

    1. Instagram: @theginge.haylie or @vibrantcorners

    2. Facebook: Haylie Wright

    3. WhatsApp Prayer Group

  3. Financial! There are many, many needs as I launch into the unknown.

    1. Below is a list of the projects we are focusing on right now.

Projects you can give to:

  • Vibrant Corners Storytelling Platform

    • Collecting interviews, media

    • Sharing what people are doing in their communities

    • Giving these incredible people a voice and platform (maybe one they’ve never had)

  • Personal ministry costs

    • Living costs

      • (despite being so poor, it’s expensive living here!)

    • Car/transportation

      • This is perhaps one of the biggest needs and a large barrier at the moment.

    • Discipleship and mentorship work, including girls’ sport and church support

  • Advocacy work

    • Connecting local work to broader networks and international communities

    • Support, mentorship and programme development

    • Featured local work you can give to, if you specify:

      • TomorrowIS (after-school programme for village and refugee children in southern Moldova)

      • Communitas (transition home for vulnerable boys in Chișinău, Moldova)

      • Casa Mica (Youth for Christ transition home for vulnerable girls in Căușeni, Moldova)

      • House of Bread (retreat house for ministry workers and soldiers in Kyiv, Ukraine)
