Faith in Action in India and Texas

This week we were privileged to host Janaki Menni from India with us in the States. This was her first trip to America and little did we know a simple YES from her to come, turned into a 6-week, 3-state trip. She has made new connections in Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Texas. We are excited to see all that God does with this trip.

In 2002, Janaki started Faith In Action Ministries (FIAM). She has been faithfully serving God through FIAM for more than 20 years, including planting over 100 churches all over India. Also over that time, she has been caring for and sharing God's love by:

  • caring for orphans and street kids

  • ministering to the elderly needing care

  • helping leprosy community groups

  • creating a vocational training center for rural and tribal young girls and women

  • providing clean drinking water

  • free medical camps in interior tribal villages

  • establishing an amazing school

  • relief work & more

“We are committed to serving unreached people in rural and tribal villages by preaching and spreading God's love.”

Here are some immediate needs Janaki has in India and how you can be a part of supporting the work at FIAM:

PRAY for Janaki and her team. There are 7 immediate staff that help run FIAM, oversee 100 churches, St. Joseph's School with around 30 employed teachers and staff, a vocational training school, and much more. They also work in very hard conditions and face continual persecution from radical Hindus.

INVEST financially into FIAM. They are providing education for 318 students, many who are from Hindu backgrounds and are living in impoverished conditions. It costs $400 per year per student to cover all of their fees, supplies, uniforms, and provide them with a high-quality education. That’s less than $35 per month to give one child the gift of education.

HELP provide transportation. Janaki has also asked us to pray about a school bus they are in need of purchasing in order to transport around 150 more students to and from school, so they are able to attend. In India, this school bus costs $30,000. Please give what you can to help, but if you can't give, please pray that this opportunity will be provided for them.

She also travels around 1,000 miles and back to visit the 100+ churches she and her team have helped plant all over India. Right now, gasoline is at an all-time high in India and the average cost for her to just put gas in her car, to go anywhere in the country, is around $500 per month. If we can help offset any of these travel costs for her, it would be a huge blessing to her team, her ministry, and the churches she supports.

GO on a trip to India in the future. Pray about a trip to see all the work at FIAM and to encourage Janaki as she continues to lead the work in Southeastern India.

Please consider how you can help Janaki and FIAM.
