Summer on Mission: Week 9

Thank you for continuing to pray for and partner with Grafted Together, Sid & Wendy Harper, our Missionary Care team at Links. Because of your generosity and encouragement, we have the privilege of walking alongside missionaries serving in some of the hardest places in the world.

Your partnership allows us to care for those who spend their lives caring for others.

South Asia
Recently, Sid had the opportunity to travel to Southern Asia (Undisclosed Country) to spend time encouraging and caring for missionaries serving there. These trips are always a reminder that while ministry often looks different across cultures, the needs are remarkably similar. Missionaries need safe places to process, be encouraged, and simply be reminded that they are not alone.

Equipping Missionaries Through Books
One exciting project we’re launching is creating missionary book bundles to send to those serving around the world. We’ve already been able to send over a dozen books to some very thankful mission workers!

Many missionaries have limited access to quality Christian resources, especially books focused on healthy ministry, marriage, resilience, soul care, leadership, trauma, grief, and spiritual formation. Our desire is to place life-giving resources into their hands that will continue encouraging them long after our visits have ended.

We’re currently raising funds to purchase and ship or send via eBook bundles curated for their specific needs and desires.

Looking Ahead to 2027
As we begin planning for next year, we’re excited about several opportunities God has already opened.
Plans include:

  • Hosting a Northern Uganda Mini-Retreat for missionaries serving in the region along with one-on-ones with missionaries + team health assessments to help strengthen teams

  • Continuing regular coaching, debriefing, and member care for the missionaries we currently serve.

  • Making in-person ministry visits to teams and individuals serving throughout Eastern Africa, Australia, and Central Europe.

  • Continued language lessons for Sid & ongoing trainings for debriefing and mental health on the mission field

Our heart remains the same: to provide intentional spaces where missionaries can rest, process, heal, and return to ministry strengthened for the work God has called them to do.

Upcoming: West Asia
This September and October, we’ll be traveling to West Asia to continue caring for missionaries serving there. In addition to providing missionary care, this trip will include language immersion opportunities for Sid as he continues developing the language skills that will strengthen future ministry in the many regions of the world.

We’re currently raising support to help cover airfare, transportation, lodging, and ministry expenses for this trip. If you would like to partner with us through prayer or financial support, we would be incredibly grateful.

One of our commitments at Links and Grafted Together is to never stop learning!

Continuing to Grow in Missionary Care
This October, Wendy will be attending the Barnabas Personal and Team Renewal (PTM) Conference, where she’ll receive additional training in missionary care, debriefing, member care, and best practices for helping cross-cultural workers thrive. Every new tool and relationship gained ultimately benefits the missionaries we have the privilege of serving.

Whether you pray, give financially, encourage us, or simply follow along with what God is doing, you are an important part of this ministry. Thank you for helping us remind missionaries around the world that they are seen, cared for, and deeply loved by the One who called them.
